A Message From the Principal

In keeping with the theme of the 2012 Olympic Games, Parkway High School is committed to “Inspire a Generation” of South Bossier youth toward excellence! Though our motto has been updated, the message remains the same, as Parkway High School is a place where excellence is expected. With a champion’s mind-set, we have concentrated our efforts to reach higher levels of achievement in five key areas related to intellectual and social growth: academics, athletics, safety and civility, service, and character. As we enter the 2012-2013 school-year, our vision and passion to move still closer to conditions of “excellence” within these five key areas is fueled by a spirit of competition and drive to achieve that which has not yet been achieved. At Parkway, we recognize the many challenges ahead as we enter the battlefield of educational reform marked by heightened levels of accountability, direct competition with private, charter, and virtual schools, as well as the task of maintaining public confidence in public school education; however, we feel confident that we can overcome these challenges by recommitting ourselves to the shared vision and by sustaining a prevailing attitude of excellence within our school community. As in the past, I urge all to embrace this opportunity to be a part of something bigger than ourselves and to be an active participant in becoming what we are meant to become!

GO PANTHERS!
