Mrs. Carter

There are a lot of changes happening at Parkway and I am looking forward to an exciting year.  This will be my thirty-third year as an educator with fifteen years at PHS.  I taught middle school language arts for thirteen years in Caddo Parish before earning my Masters of Library and Information Science degree from LSU.  I then joined the Bossier family becoming the librarian at Plain Dealing Middle/High School.  Shortly after coming to Parkway I earned my National Board Certification, something that I am very proud to have accomplished.  Over the past 15 years at PHS I have served as Freshmen class sponsor, Beta Club sponsor, and I currently serve as the fixed asset manager for the school. I have a passion for libraries and my job as librarian.   I am looking forward to a great year.  Go Panthers!

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town in Nebraska, and I came from a family of educators.  After getting married to my husband Dan, I moved to the South.  I still have a lot of family in the Midwest, but my younger sister followed in my footsteps and also moved South after she married so I have some family close.  I have a daughter who will move from New York City to Los Angeles at the end of the summer, and two sons who live locally.  Each of my sons have three children so I have six grandchildren ranging in ages from two to eighteen.  I enjoy spending time with family and going to my grandchildren's activities.  I also love to garden, read, and help out as needed at my son's bait and tackle store on Caddo Lake.
