It’s that time of year again to select our Girls/Boys state delegates. This is a summer leadership conference sponsored by the American Legion. The conference will be held June 22-June 28, 2014 at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

This prestigious program develops leadership skills, confidence and action-based understanding of the governmental process that gives young men and women a lasting foundation for personal and professional success.

The Parkway faculty and the American Legion will select the girls and boys to attend and represent Parkway High School at this conference.

If you are interested in being considered for this honor, please come by the Counselor’s office to sign up for consideration. You must meet certain criteria to be considered for this program. They are:

  • Have at least a 3.0 gpa
  • Leadership
  • Character
  • Scholarship
  • Patriotism
  • Must be available to attend the summer conference and have own transportation. If you are selected and do not attend the conference, without making arrangements for the alternate to take your place, you will have to pay the cost of the camp ($330.00).

The deadline to sign up for consideration will be Friday, March 7th by end of school day.

College Kickstart - Saturday March 22, 2014

College Kickstart is a day where we welcome all high school students who want to get a head start at finding the right college. During the day you will learn more about the application process, writing college essays, crafting resumes, applying for scholarships/financial aid, and much more!

Juniors Honored at the Atkins' Masonic Lodge

Mary Kate Bozeman and Hayden Kingfisher were honored at the Atkins' Masonic Lodge with a dinner and ceremony. Each were presented a certificate, a key, and $100 for their honesty and integrity. Congratulations to you both for representing Parkway High School!!

Military Student Advisory Council

If you are a military connected student and would like to join our new Military Student Advisory Council, please come by the counselor's office to sign up for this committee.

This advisory council will give you an opportunity to discuss experiences and concerns about being connected to the military and to promote a partnership between the military and Bossier Schools.

The first meeting will be November 14, 2012 at 2:20 p.m. You must have parent permission to stay after school.
