Candace Impson

Welcome to Mrs. Impson's Class

Hello,  my name is Candace Impson.  I want to welcome each of you to my class!  I have been teaching for nine years, five of those years have been at Parkway High School. I have taught Pre-Algebra, Foundations of Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Probability and Statistics. Being able to help students understand math is the biggest inspiration I have as a teacher. I enjoy seeing the light bulbs go off  when a problem or concept is finally understood. My goal as a teacher is to make sure each student walks away with the skills needed to succeed at the next level.

Here is a little bit about me. I was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. I graduated from LSUS in 2007 with my B.S. in secondary education ( focus in Mathematics).  I live in Shreveport with my husband of ten years Jeff, and my two children Victoria (6) and Dylan (3). Victoria will be a 1st grader at Sun City elementary and Dylan will be in Pre-K 3 at Brookwood Baptist Preschool.  My husband is the branch manager at the Broadmoor branch of the Shreve Memorial library system.  We are active in our church, and in our community.

I am also the sponsor of Parkways danceline, the Black Cat Revue. When I am not teaching, or tutoring at school I am working with this great set of girls! We strive to bring school spirit and unity to our school. This group of girls are hard working, and dedicated. I enjoy being such a big  part of this organization.

I look forward to teaching each of you this year!  The 2016-2017 school year is going to be great!
