Congratulations Panthers for a Season to Remember!

Good Day Panthers. I wanted to take a moment to share with you how proud I am of you for completing an amazing football season. From our coaches, student athletes, band, cheerleaders, dance line, pep squad, ROTC, student council, the fanatical members of the “Panther Nation” and those of you who have supported us along the way, you have truly made this season a historic one for our school. For 42 years, South Bossier dreamed of competing for a state championship--you made this dream come true.

A number of years ago, there was a great coach whose name was Vince Lombardi. He once said, “I firmly believe that any man's finest hour -- his greatest fulfillment to all he holds dear -- is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle.” Week end and week out, that is what you did. You played your hearts out and gave every ounce of fiber that you had…and for that…I am so proud of you.

Earlier this year, we set a goal to create a “Panther Dynasty.”  Fueled by a spirit of competition and drive to achieve that which has not yet been achieved, our vision and passion is to move closer to the conditions of excellence in five key areas…one of those being in athletics. We set a very lofty goal…some of you may say that we came up short and that this was a once in a life-time opportunity to go to the DOME.  I beg to differ with you—this season now represents the standard for Parkway High School; not just in football, cross-country, or in other sports like basketball, wrestling, soccer, baseball, and softball, but in every sport and in every activity that our students are involved in. Students, coaches, faculty, and staff…stand tall, raise your head high and be proud…for our journey to create a Panther Dynasty has begun.

Thank you and as always…GO PANTHERS!

Video Camera Equipment Policy

The Superdome Management has a policy which prohibits unauthorized video camera equipment from being carried into the Superdome during an athletic contest. The LHSAA concurs with the policy.

Please be advised that for the 2013 LHSAA State Farm Prep Classic, video camera equipment will not be allowed in the Superdome during the Classic unless the individual(s) is/are videotaping for the school team from a photo booth in the press box and has obtained a “press box” pass from the LHSAA through the participating school.

This policy will be strictly enforced by Superdome Management and spectators attempting to enter the Superdome with unauthorized camera equipment will be denied access until they have returned their camera equipment to their vehicle or hotel room.

Individuals who bring concealed video camera equipment into the Superdome will be required to remove it from the Superdome if they are detected using this equipment.

It is important that you strictly adhere to this policy because LHSAA would regret having you experience the inconvenience and embarrassment of having to return this equipment to their vehicle or hotel room. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Since there is a policy prohibiting spectators from bringing video cameras into the Superdome to videotape the games, we have secured the assistance of Superdome officials for play-by-play videotaping of all nine state championship games of the 2013 LHSAA/STATE FARM PREP CLASSIC.  These DVD’s will be of the highest quality since they will be produced by experts.

Plans call for the tapes to feature close-up action shots on the field, spectators, cheerleaders and other participants in the Classic.  We plan to include slow motion action along with some instant replays as well as band performances, support groups of both schools and post-game award ceremonies.

The attached flyer specifies how spectators, coaches, players and other participants can order a copy of the full-length DVD of the game of their choice at a reasonable price.  Please reproduce copies of the enclosed flyer and distribute them to all managers of your school’s football squad and support groups.

This DVD will be a true keepsake of your school’s involvement in this year’s Classic, one that can be enjoyed and treasured for a lifetime.

The LHSAA has an exclusive photography contract with Musemeche Photography.
