A Little About Me!
Welcome to Parkway High School! My name is Christy Hopkins and this is my first year teaching at PHS. I will be teaching Physical Science and I am so excited to share this school year with you!
I am a lifelong resident of SoBo and attended Sun City, Curtis, Elm Grove and Parkway High Schools. I graduated from PHS in 1988 and went to school to become a nurse. Soon after graduation, I realized that my first love was teaching and I went back to school for my teaching certificate. I graduated in December 1996 from LSUS with a B.A. in Education. For the past 19 years, I had the privilege of working at the best middle school in Bossier Parish...Elm Grove Middle School! I taught 8th Grade Earth Science at The Grove and decided this past year that it was finally time for me to move on to high school!
I have been married to Paul Hopkins for 24 years. Paul is the School Resource Officer for Parkway. We have two sons, Harrison and Bennett. Harrison is a 2016 graduate of PHS and Bennett is currently a Sophomore at PHS.
When I am not cheering on my boys at their sporting/fishing events, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. (I have 23 first cousins!) I LOVE to travel, go to the movies, and read in my spare time. I love watching football! My favorite teams are the Panthers (of course!), LSU Tigers, and any team that employs Eric Decker!
I look forward to meeting all of you and experiencing this wonderful journey together!
